EFFECTIVE’s ambition is to promote large-scale marine protected areas establishment in the European seas (contributing to 30% by 2030) through innovative marine ecosystems restoration and different observations and monitoring scales, which will allow an integrated approach involving governance, participation and social engagement, and a new ecosystem-based management framework regarding common natural and socioeconomic links.

The EFFECTIVE main objective is to develop a comprehensive scientific knowledge base and practical guidance, combining science, technological nature-based solution and digitalization, for the application of the Ecosystem-Based management to the protection and restoration management of the EU’s Mediterranean Blue Natural Capital.
